This is 40

Well, we finally reached July and just like that, 40 has come and gone! Oh, and I also as of last Saturday have a teenager! Wow. Still letting all that settle in!

Let’s talk about the fun stuff, the party! Planning a memorable get-together with my closest friends & family, what a dream! Party planning runs thick in my veins; it’s like if I were to try and not plan a party, I might start to develop some sort of twitch. I live for a good theme, vibe, or at least certain colors for any party. Until my 40th, I always created a fun, themed party for the kids. But now they have somewhat passed the “party stage” I invested all my efforts into my 40th! 

It was a magical night, and honestly, other than a little (actually a lot) of rain, it couldn’t have turned out better. Having the party outside in July was a risk but well worth it! I loved the idea of gathering out around the pool; it’s where we spend so much of our time. Months ago, I decided to try and come up with a tablescape, which is something I have never done before. It wasn’t as easy as I thought, but now I’m officially hooked. There are SO many beautiful websites where I found lots of inspiration.

I’m looking forward to the beginning of a new chapter and had a blast closing out my 30’s with friends and family! Although, no way could I have done it all without a little help from local friends & small businesses! Check out photos from the talented Heather Ison!
